Construction has begun on another wind farm in the Mid-North region of South Australia, a project which will deliver up to 119MW of extra capacity to the state.
ENGIE is constructing the Willogoleche Wind Farm around 5 kilometres from the township of Hallett, with the project expected for completion by mid-2018.
The project was originally develooped by Wind Prospect before being sold to ENGIE, and will comprise 32 turbines producing up to 3.8MW each.
Willgoleche will not be equipped with energy storage. There isa power purchase agreement in place to supply ENGIE’s retail business, Simply Energy, which has more than 80,000 customers in SA.
