Construction work on the $120 million Salt Creek Wind Farm near Woorndoo in Southern Victoria is expected to begin this month.
The project, now with developers TILT Renewables, comprises 15 turbines and will have a final capacity of 54MW.
More than 100 local jobs are expected to be created in the 12 month construction phase, and the project is expected to be commissioned in the first half of 2018.
TILT, which is listed on the NZ Stock Exchange, said it planned to proceed with the wind farm despite not currently having a power purchase agreement in place.
Salt Creek has had a long history, with foyr extension requests, and it has changed hands three times, with NewEn and Trustpower as previous developers.
The project was initially approved by Moyne Shire Council in June 2007.
